Mary lives with her rich parents in India. When she is nine years old, her parents die. Mary goes to live with her uncle. A woman who is named Medlock is sent to take her to the place. Her uncle lived in a big and old house in the country. There is a big mystery about a secret garden in the place. It has walls round it, and she can't find a door. She wants to go to the secret garden. And then, she meets an old gardener, Ben Weatherstaff. He gives her a key to the secret garden. Mary meets two boys, Dickon and Colin. Dickon is poor, but he is happy. And he loves animals. Colin, Mary's cousin, is rich, but he is ill. He thinks he is going to die. His father has never wanted to see him because he's mother died soon after he was born. Then a few weeks ago, Dickon and Mary took Colin out to show him the garden, and they want to help Colin learns to walk. Over the next few weeks, Colin, Dickon and Mary work in the secret garden every day. While the secret garden is coming alive and three children are coming alive with it. In the end, they all say it is a "Magic" that made all these wonders possible.
After reading this book, I think that everything is a hope to me, although the event is an unknown. If you take efforts to do everything, you will be able to have the harvest.I think that the most influential in the book is Dickon. Because his cheerfulness and joy affect everyone, gradually, the original Mary irritable temper also disappear and is replaced by learning to trust others, facing with all things with a cheerful mind. Let you open your mind, and your garden in your mind will full of life. The most important thing is using positive and happy attitude to face your life.
