These weeks, I finished a book,called''My Fair Lady''. I chosed this book because I have read the book about the famous actress-Audrey Hepburn. Audrey Hepburn was the heroine of the film which was adapted by this book.

This story is talking about Eliza Doolittle- a young London woman with a very strong London accent. She meet a linguistician,called Henry Higgins,in a party. Eliza wanted Henry could teach her to speak English without terrible accent. Then Henry had a bet with his friend about whether Eliza could be a wonderful woman in the beau monde or not.

Eliza lived with Henry and learned address of the beau monde. Day by day, Eliza succeeded in becoming a wonderful woman . No one knew her endeavour,and owe to Henry all the successes.Eliza was angry and left Henry . At this time, Henry found he fell love with Eliza and was sad about her leaving. Finally , Eliza refused the proposal of a young man in beau monde and came back to Henry.

The story about growing love between two different people might give you some joyful time when you read this book.

My Reading Journal 2 Group I 秦子晴

These weeks , I finished my first book ,called "Jane Eyre." The second book I choose was "Audrey Hepburn",and I have alredy finished it.

The title page of this book is the world-famous actress,Audrey Hepburn. Her slender figure and charming smile in this picture attracted me. This book is talking about the life story of Audrey.

Audrey loved dancing very much,and her mother cultivated her by finding the best dancing teacher for her and sending her to the most important ballet shool in London. One day ballet school told her : "I'm sorry ,but you'll never be a famous dancer. You're too tall." Audrey was sad ,but then something different happened. It changed her life......

Audrey started having some opportunities as an actress. Directors loved her happy face ,and one said,"a little sun is shining in her eyes." It's a really good description about Audrey. Then , Audrey made many famous movies, such as Roman Holiday,Breakfast at Tiffany's ,My Fair Lady,etc.

Audrey also had sad times,too. Her husband,Mel, was not happy wih her because Audrey was more famous than him and Mel was friendly with other wemen. Their marriage ended in divorce. But Audrey married again. Sad to say,it was not a good marriage,too.

When Audrey became older,she wanted to help poor and hungry children and started to work for United Nations. Audrey died in1993,but her movies still influence many people.

My Reading Journal 1 I組 秦子晴

The book I choose is Jane Eyre. The novel was first published in 1874. It was written by Miss Charlotte Bronte,and I read the version which was retold by Margery Green. It was published by BOOKMAN BOOK,LTD. There is 158 pages in this book.

I went to library to find English book , and I chose this small book. I browsed through the book,and I found it is not difficult to me. I can start with easy level and take time for me to accustom myself to reading.

There are 22 chapter in this book , and I try to read one chapter every day. Now I can read three or four chapters sometimes . I think I need more patience to have a habit of reading English book.

The story was about a brave girl,Jane. She lost her parents and her mother's brother promise to take care of her. But her aunt really hated her and treat her very bad. Jane was bullied by her aunt's children and her aunt sent her to a charity school. In the school,Jane had a good friend ,Helen,and this friend give her help and bravery to beat all difficulties.

After graduated from the school,she went to Thornfeld Hall as a teacher. Jane had a new life and fell in love with Mr.Rochester,but there are more barriers in her life. I want to learn the bravery like Jane and enjoy a romance that is full of character and interst in this book.
