Dink, Josh and Rose were good friends. One day Dink's uncle, Warren suggested Dink taking his friends to see Warren's apartment and his favorite painting. So, Dink, Josh and Rose were visiting Warren at their holidays. Warren was a kind, friendly, humorous person. He took them to see New York City's night scenery at the balcony. The view was great, Dink felt him just like an eagle up here. After that, Warren led them to see the painting. "This was painted a long time ago by a man named Claude Monet. It's very valuable." He said. "Is the painting yours?" Dink asked. "I wish it were, Donny," his uncle said. But it was his friend Forest Evans' collection, not his.

Latter, Warren looked at his watch and said "It's time to go downstairs," he said. He took the kids to see the circus in New York City. Troupers of the circus were very funny and good, they can perform many amazing act you never seeing before. Both Warren and the kids had fun there. But when they went to Warren's house, they found the painting was stolen. And the tabletop was littered with orange juice and peels. The fruit bowl was overturned. It's a very strange scene.

The book which I read recently is called "The Tenth Circle" .the author is Jodi Picoult.

Following is it's synopsis:
When Daniel Stone was a child, he was the only white boy in a native Eskimo village where his mother taught, and he was teased mercilessly because he was different. He fought back, the baddest of the bad kids: stealing, drinking, robbing and cheating his way out of the Alaskan bush ,where he honed his artistic talent, fell in love with a girl and got her pregnant. To become part of a family, he reinvented himself , jettisoning all that anger to become a docile, devoted husband and father. Fifteen years later, when we meet Daniel again, he is a comic book artist. His wife teaches Dante's Inferno at a local college; his daughter, Trixie, is the light of his life ,and a girl who only knows her father as the even-tempered, mild-mannered man he has been her whole life. Until, that is, she is date raped…and Daniel finds himself struggling, again, with a powerlessness and a rage that may not just swallow him whole, but destroy his family and his future.

"The Tenth Circle" is absolutely the thought-provoking and topical novel readers have come to expect. What comes as a surprise is just how thoroughly the book twists the reader's heart…Picoult does a bang-up job on the narrative approach she's known for. She leads readers to consider thorny issues around motives and consequences, this book is really outstanding.

I will finish my chosen book-Pride and Prejudice after the last three chapters to be seen.
Jane was invited by her uncle and aunt to London, where now Mr. Bingley is in. unfortunately, this trip to London didn't bring happiness to her but gave her a strike that Mr. Bingley might not be in love with her anymore. Elizabeth wasn't in home during this period, too. She went with Sir William Lucas and Maria to visit Hunsford. In there, she met an incredible thing that Mr. Darcy proposed to her. Elizabeth refused his proposal and got angry with Mr. Darcy because he despised her family. Both they were angry finally, but by this conflict, they knew each other more.
The next time they met was in Mr. Darcy's house-Pemberley after a few months. They were embarrassed to talk. But now, Mr. Darcy got rid of pride to Elizabeth and Elizabeth got rid of prejudice to Mr. Darcy. At this moment, Elizabeth received a bad news from home.
Though I didn't know the ending, I thought I could guess some of it.

Amir's father was a man who always did the thing other people doubting about. For instance, he built a orphanage without any architectural experience after many skeptics urging him to stop his foolishness. Because of the self-centered streak, Amir's father molded the world around him to his liking. But Amir was totally not the ideal son he wanted. Amir didn't inherit a shred of his father's athletic talent, and even not to take over the business. One day, Amir accidently heard his father' talk with friend. Amir knew that his father was frustrated. So Amir did something wrong afterward - Amir hurt his best friend.

Within few days, Jacob and John didn't talk each other. John also talked little with Cassie, Sarah, and Caleb. Sarah said these man were too stubborn, and Caleb worried they would hurt each other. One day, John was sick seriously, Sarah asked Jacob to take him to see Sam, the doctor of this town. Sam told Jacob that John's body was very bad, and had lots of problems. He needed to be in the hospital, until rehabilitation. Jacob and Anna took care of John, so he became good gradually. In these days, they stated to understand each other. After John recovered, they finally became families.

In this story, I learned the way of dealing with problems. Instead of keeping our hate in mind, we should let past passed way. No matter what happened, families were still families.

And the next book I chosen is ''The Orange Outlaw ''. This book was written by Ron Roy, he is an amazing author of the A to Z mysteries series. His book let people enjoy reading. This story was about three kids' adventure of catching the painting thief. They only had some clues about orange peels and an orange hair. So how could the kids catch the crafty crook?

This two weeks I have read nearly half of my chosen book – Pride And Prejudice. There were too many different names in the book, making me confused. I had to write down those names in the space of book and analyse their relationship, so that I could read it more unhinderedly. And on the last page were a glossary which helped me a lot in reading. By using it, I haven't to consult the word I didn't know by dictionary and waste time.
The story began on the newcomers in the village of Longbourn. Mr. Bingley, one of the newcomers, was very handsome and rich, falling in love with Jane at the ball when they first met. Jane was one of the Bennet's daughters and she was good-natured and beautiful. On the other hand, Jane's sister, Elizabeth, decided to hate Mr. Darcy who was Mr. Bingley's friend at the same ball. Elizabeth disliked Mr. Darcy's pride and Mr. Darcy thought Elizabeth not as pretty as her sister. As time went on, Mr. Darcy was gradually appealed by Elizabeth's clever, though Elizabeth still believed him an arrogant guy.
One day, Jane received a letter from Mr. Bingley's sister, saying that both them and Mr. Darcy were going to stay in London and won't be back. This terrible news made Jane heartbroken. Elizabeth had noting to do but encouraged her sister that this bad plan must be thought by Mr. Darcy, not Mr. Bingley.

Recently,I choose a book which is called My Sister's Keeper.
Because I have read chinese version before,so it well be more easy for me to read english version .
Following is its synopsis.

Anna is not sick, but she might as well be. By age thirteen, she has undergone countless surgeries, transfusions, and so that her older sister, Kate, can somehow fight the leukemia that has plagued her since childhood. The product of preimplantation genetic diagnosis, Anna was conceived as a bone marrow match for Kate - a life and a role that she has never questioned… until now. Like most teenagers, Anna is beginning to question who she truly is. But unlike most teenagers, she has always been defined in terms of her sister ,and so Anna makes a decision that for most would be unthinkable… a decision that will tear her family apart and have perhaps fatal consequences for the sister she loves. My Sister's Keeper examines what it means to be a good parent, a good sister, a good person. Is it morally correct to do whatever it takes to save a child's life… even if that means infringing upon the rights of another? Is it worth trying to discover who you really are, if that quest makes you like yourself less?

I think the author vividly evokes the physical and psychic toll, and it's a complex subject with bravado, everybody should not miss it!

This week I started to read my new chosen book – Pride and Prejudice. I bought it when I was in senior high, but I didn't have chance to open it until this time. This book was written by Jane Austen in 1797, retold by Margaret Tarner and published by Macmillan Heinemann ELT.
I have read Pride and Prejudice in version of Chinese in my childhood. It was long time ago for me to read it, so I couldn't remember most of its detail clearly. It was really a classic book which worth reading again and again. And its dictum from the begin of the story," everyone knows that a rich, unmarried man needs a pretty wife" was famous all over world. That the reason why I chose this book.
Pride and Prejudice was also produced a film in 2006. KeiraKnightley portrayaled the heroine, Elizabeth Bennent. The story was about the five daughters of the Bennent family who are looking forward to be able to unite by marriage with rich and prestigious families under their mother's arrangement.

The man only said his name was John, he didn't tell everyone who he was. They talked some things about themselves. Sarah was married with Jacob after his wife dead, Anna and Caleb were her stepdaughter as well as stepson, Cassie was her real daughter. But their relationship were very harmonious. Jacob was unhappy when he lost his wife. Thanked to Sarah's company, he could be free of sad. After talking, Cassie asked John to play the game — hide-and-seek,and they all had fun. That night, Sarah arranged John to sleep in Anna's room. Their cat slept with John, too.

Until the next day, when Caleb's father — Jacob came, they realized that John was their grandfather. They thought John died for a long time, because he left home and abandoned his wife and child — Jacob before. Jacob was very angry and didn't welcome John, but Sarah took care of him well. She didn't ask John any question about himself, but Cassie did a lot. So John called Cassie was the queen of question.

This two weeks I finally finished my chosen book – Charlotte's Web. The ending was just like what I predicted, but even more loving and happier.
Thanks to friends' help, the pig, Wilbur, eventually won the medal in the fair, which could protect him from being killed as ham or bacon. The honor of triumph brought joy to everyone there. The moment Wilbur enjoyed in the glory, the spider, Charlotte, told him a bad news that she was going to die. What a sudden strike to Wilbur. By reading here, I was sad to cry. Wilbur was going to lose his best friend, such a kind friend. Though I'm afraid of spiders, I do like Charlotte. Charlotte was too weak to travel home with everybody. The only thing Wilbur could do was that bring Charlotte's egg sac home, taking care of them.
Wilbur leaded a wonderful time in winter when he should have been killed. Now, spring was coming and dozens of baby spiders crawled from the sac. They were excited to see their mother's best friend. But most of them didn't want to live in the pigpen. They traveled to another place by using their silk to form a balloon and flew by wind. I doubt weather spiders can really use silk to form balloons. If it is real, it's magical. There were three spiders left to company with Wilbur. They were good friends, too. But in Wilbur's heart, no other spider can take Charlotte's place.
There were too many appealing things in our life, such as computer and television. Sometimes, we forgot there also has something interesting around us. Something was simple, not too complicated and worth noticing.

Caleb's sister, Anna gave him a journal to write about their daily life. Because she was going to work at town with Sam, he was a doctor and also was her boyfriend - Justin's father. She worked for Sam because she wanted to know more about Justin. But Justin had gone to Europe to fight in the war. She felt lonely, so asked Caleb to write a journal after she left. At first, Caleb refused her request and said he was not a wirter, but Anna replied "Everyone's not a writer, but everyone can write". Caleb cannot but do the job.

One day, When Caleb and his sister Cassie played a game, Cassie told Caleb that she saw a man in their barn. But Caleb thought the man was just her sister's imagined friend. In other words, the man was not existent. But later, he saw the stranger by his eyes in the barn, too. He called their mother, Sarah soon. The man said he just felt cold, but he didn't get fever. At that moment, Sarah made her mind to invite the man to their house for taking a break.

I read a new book recently,it is called"Gone With The Wind",and
it's a story about romance.
In the novel .a young woman,Scarlett O'hara ,tells everyone
that she is in love with a man, named Ashley Wilkes. But there is
another man ,Rhett Butler, who has a powerful effect on her,and
it is not until Rhett decides to leave that Scarlett realizes who
she truly loves. The book is about truth and imagination. What
we believe we are is not necessarily what we really are.
In addition to the love story,I also appriciate the philosophy
of Scarlett .For her, "tomorrow is another day. "When I am in the
low mood,I always tell myself that tomorrow will be a better day.
Reading "Gone With The Wind"is not only for pleasure ,but also a
good reminder of this truth about tomorrow.

This two weeks, I have read to chapter sixteen of my chosen book - Charlotte's Web, leaving six chapters to be read next week. In the final of my last time reading the book, I read that the pig, Wilbur, was feed to be killed as bacon or ham. So, Wilbur went to find the spider, Charlotte, who could help him out the crisis.
Charlotte spent a lot of time working on a plan to save Wilbur's live. Finally, she got a good idea. She weaved a message on her web to show the people who were the master of the farm and intended to eat Wilbur. What the message said was that "the pig." This action result in a miracle on the pig. People who lived in the village all came to the farm to visit the pig and the master was also proud of Wilbur.
Infect, I couldn't really understand what "the pig" mean. Wasn't it equal to "certain pig?"I have consulted the dictionary but still found no answer. Though I was confused by the word "some pig," I read the book continually, wondering that maybe I could understand it by reading from the context.
Followed by "the pig," Charlotte weaved some other word like "terrific" or "radiant," appealing more people to came. Wilbur became more and more famous and so did his owner. By the way, there was not only Charlotte but also much animal helping Wilbur, such as the rat, Templeton . Then, one day, the master of the farm decided to take Wilbur to the fair. In order to protect Wilbur, Charlotte and Templeton hided in the crate which Wilbur was put in.
I have read here this week. It's odd for me why the spider weaved the miracle web, but the pig got the fame.

I caught a cold this week, I felt uncomfortably and low-spirited, but I still finished my book . This was the first time I finished an english book from beginning to end, and never gave up! At the start, I thought it would be hard for me to read an english book and keep it up. Now, it happend, unconsciously.

I borrowed a new one from library, which were named "CALEB'S STORY". The writer was Patricia Maclachlan, she was the author of many beloved novels for young readers, and several picture books. The story was talking about Caleb and the journal Anna gave him. Anna wanted Caleb to fill the journal, to write down their family's story. Caleb thought it was hard to find things to write, but after his little sister, Cassie saw a mysterious old man in the barn, everything changed.

I think the book i choosed last week was to difficult for me,so i choose another one,
which is called "The Phantom of the Opera"
I started reading this book because there was a movie version of the Phantom of the Opera, and also a musical of it at the Broadway. It sounded interesting and attractive .
To tell the truth, I was rather confused by the story. Leroux had used first person tense in some parts of the story, as if he was there at the opera, trying to find out if the Opera Ghost really existed. Moreover, by weaving in the characters that actually existed in history into the story, Leroux made the story sound very realistic; however, it may not be a good thing to sound so realistic, because from time to time, I would have to think very hard about whether the Phantom of the Opera and this story had existed in reality, or just in one's imagination? All in all, I think I would rather choose to believe that the story is fictional, since it would be too awful if anything like this actually happened.
Most of the story's climaxes are at the middle of the book.I believe that Christine Daae loved the opera ghost, Erek, as much as she loved Raoul, the Vicomte de Chagny. I felt the opera ghost is a person that worth sympathy.Despites his overwhelmed talents, he is ugly-looking,so he can only live underneath the theatrer, lives a dark life that no one knows him. However, the end when he still let the person he loves so much to pursuit her true love is so touching and shows his capacious heart to sacrifice himself.

This week I have only read five chapters of my book – Charlotte's Web. The tests of Accounting, Calculus and history occupied most of my leisure time, so that I could hardly read it. During this two weeks, I have changed my way to read the book. Prior to two weeks, I consulted the dictionary as soon as I saw the word which I didn't understand. But I found that it wasn't fluent for me to read whole paragraph. Now, I mark the vocabularies by under line of them and consult the dictionary after every chapter.
The pig Wilbur in the book has a spider friend whose name is Charlotte. They talk every day and sometimes Charlotte show how she eat insects to Wilbur. There are lots of pleasant things happen in summary day in the farm which Wilbur and Charlotte live. For example , their friend ,a goose, have seven cute goslings. But one day, the old sheep told Wilbur a bad news that he was put on weight in order to be eat.
The story will develop splendidly and I look forward to the following chapters.

I have read the book "American Short Stories In Special English" for some days. There were lots of stories, but one of them touched my heart deeply. The tale was about a pregnant mother Olive helping their cow to have a baby. It was her husband's job, and he told her to stay at home instead in the barn. Nate was afraid that his wife would be scared when seeing new calf's born. When it happend, Nate could do nothing about the cow, because he didn't have any experience. Olive scared at first, but soon she became calmly, and controlled all the situation. How bravely Olive was! She was fearless to the calf, maybe it was due to the natural duty. Mothers seemed to have the power that can protect their baby very well and safely than Father. And even if how weakness they were first, then they all would be storng enough to face the trouble for their children.

From the story, I learned that we can do many things than we expected before, just to make our mind and do the best for ourselves.

The book I chose is Charlotte's Web which was written by E. B. white in 1952. The reason why I chose this book was my classmate's recommend. Also, charlotte's web has been produced a film in 2007. Though I have no chance to see charlotte's web in the movie theater, I can enjoy it by reading.
This book contains twenty-two chapters. In the beginning, I planned to read one chapter one day, but the schedule hasn't practiced. There are some vocabularies that I didn't know so that I had to use the dictionary to confirm the meaning of those words.
I have read seven chapters so far. It is really a cute tale. The pig Wilbur in the story is innocent but has no friends. One day ,a spider whose name is Charlotte appear to talk with Wilbur. This makes Wilbur's life something different.
I hope that I can read faster and then reach my goal-one chapter one day.

The book I choose was The Kite Runner, no.1 New York Times bestseller.

I want to finish this book, then to see the movie. Many people say that novel is always

more touching than movie. But I found it difficult to make it. The novel's vocabulary

extremely exceeded my own. Because the first two weeks, I had some tests for the

last semester, now I merely read ten pages, but I looked up dictionary

many times. I listed the word I didn't understand, there were 80 words now, only in ten

pages. I could not enjoy in the reading process, so I felt like chaning books.

The story I read so far was about the leading man's memory. From some word, I guess
that he lost his best friend in that past. I sensed his regret and desire to make up.

In the retrospect, his best friend was his father's servant's son. They were carefree
and happy. The days seen so good, maybe something was about to happen.
I will try this book one more week, or I will try other one.
