I haven't finished this book, but I almost have read half of it.
This book is talking about a gifted child named Matilda. This little girl is so gifted that she can read and cook by herself. And what's more, by the time she was 5, she had read all the children's books in the library!
Unfortunately, although Matilda is an extremely intelligent girl who has an innocent heart, her parents still don't care about her. They both think that reading is for sissies. And Mrs. Trunchbull, the school headmistress, is a woman with an ugly outlook and bad mind. She also doesn't like Matilda. The only person who realizes Matilda's talents is Matilda's teacher, Miss Honey. And she is also the only one who really loves Matilda.
I think it's really a pity that Matilda's parents have no idea that they have such an intelligent child. As parents, they should trust and pay more attention on their child. And I'm also glad that finally, Matilda found a person, Miss Honey, who really care about her!
