From 3/1 to 3/11 I have read two English novels.
The first book I read is "The Black Pearl."
At first, I didn't know how to choose an English book.
I chose this book because my classmate said it seems interesting.
And the picture on the cover attracts me.
This is at elementary level with vocabulary of approximately 1,100 basic words.
It's really a charming novel, I just spent 3 days (30 minutes each day) reading this book.
I like this book because of the mystery in it.
In the beginning I thought this is just a spooky ghost story only , but after I read I am surprised that there is a impressive love story in the end. I am quite sympathetic to the ghost.
My second book is "My Fair Lady."
I chose this book because it was produced by film, a household film.
This is at pre-intermediate level (1200 words), harder than my first book.
I never think that accent is so important that it can even change a person.
It seems imply that I shall learn my pronunciation no matter Chinese or English more accurate.
The story is full of music and songs, I cannot figure out the melody in literal, so I wish one day I will have the opportunity to watch this movie.
I spent 3 days reading this book (40 minutes in average).
Whether I am concentrate or not make a great influence on my reading.
I was concentrate on my reading when I read my first book.
But I was disturbed by friends with MSN when I read my second book.
So it took more time to finish my second book.
Maybe the level influences my reading speed.
But I think attention is more important.
So next time when I read I will close my computer.
In general, I am effective. And I wish I could keep working.
By this reading exercise, it urges me to read.
The monthly reading log really works out.
It reminds me to read.
I think it is important to record what I have read.
So far I felt substantial in this exercise.
And I wish I can improve my English day by day.
